The Importance Of Accuracy, Aim Assist, Range, And StabilityĪccuracy dictates how well your weapon can land shots, frequently referred to as your weapon's "error angle." As your accuracy cone blooms, your error angle increases, making it harder to hit enemies. Now that you understand how your weapon behaves on a mechanical level, there's one more thing you need to understand before we start analyzing the effects of each stat. If you wondered why aiming makes your bullets feel so much more responsive than hip-firing, this is the main reason why. This behavior carries over when you aim down a weapon's sights, although both the accuracy and aim assist cones seem to tighten and lengthen. This makes your weapon much less accurate as a gunfight continues, encouraging players to either pace their shots or fight at that weapon's intended range. This is known as "bloom" by most of the community, referring to the "blooming" of your weapon's accuracy cone as you fire. If you are a solo player, your best method for getting Ascendant Shards is by resetting your vendor rank.

Similar to other upgrade materials, you cannot store Ascendant Shards in your vault, so don’t expect to horde a ton. At the time of writing this, you can only have 10 Ascendant Shards stored in your inventory along with another 10 in your Post Master. You can earn two Ascendant Shards per run, which is terrific for those who are constantly masterworking a lot of armor. To earn even more Ascendant Shards, try farming Nightfalls during a Double Vanguard rewards week. All of these are remarkably short, aren’t terribly difficult, and can be completed with a skilled team in under 15 minutes. The best Nightfall strikes to farm are The Arms Dealer, Fallen S.A.B.E.R., The Devil’s Lair, or Lake of Shadows. This is because you are almost guaranteed an Ascendant Shard upon completing a Grandmaster Nightfall, which makes it the most consistent method for farming this material.
